Control units/ Body and auxiliary control

General Purpose Control Unit

A compact control unit for what the powertrain units do not cover: door and seat modules, front or rear fan and pump control, or any mix of motors, solenoids, lamps and switches. Five H-bridges, ten protected low-side drivers and software-configurable inputs, behind two CAN FD channels and one LIN, on an ASIL B microcontroller with a safety system basis chip.

In development. Prototype assemblies available for evaluation.

Application areas

What it is used for

01

Doors

Window lifters, mirror adjustment and latch release on the H-bridges; switch packs and illumination on the inputs and low-side drivers.

02

Seats

Several adjustment motors with integrated current sensing for stall detection and position memory.

03

Fans and pumps

Front or rear cooling fans, coolant and oil pumps, PWM-controlled with load diagnostics and over-current shutdown.

04

Flexible inputs

Every input switches its own pull-up or pull-down in software, so one pin reads a switch to ground or to battery without a harness change.

05

Sleep and wake

Sleeps on the permanent supply; wakes on the ignition input or the network.

06

Body network

Two CAN FD channels with signal improvement for star and stub topologies and switchable termination, plus one LIN channel.

Inputs
8 × analogue on a 12-bit ADC (four with a thermistor pull-up), 6 × digital, 4 × battery-level wake-up. Pull-up and pull-down switched per pin in software
Vehicle network
2 × CAN FD (ISO 11898-2:2016) to 8 Mbit/s with CiA 601-4 signal improvement and switchable 120 Ω termination; 1 × LIN (ISO 17987)
Supply
5.5–35 V operating, 40 V maximum; reverse-polarity disconnect; wake on ignition or network
Connector
Single 60-circuit sealed header
Form
96 × 97 mm eight-layer board; housing defined with the installation
